H-169 is a precision optical grease, used for greasing helicoids in older Nikkor lenses, notably the 50mm AiS. Has better low-temperature performance than FC-4 below -20 Celcius. Sometimes specified in manuals to be mixed with the FC-4 grease above.

Lock End B

• used to lock the end of screws, not the tops

Lock End B is shorthand for Loctite 241, a thread- locker to keep screws where you put them! Repair manuals tytpcially say to use very very little: a microscopic drop on the bottom three threads of a tiny screw, for example. Not to be conufsed with the red Threebond screwlock that is seen on top of screws in Nikkor lenses.

OS-30MEL is an precision-engineered liquid that forms a film that acts as an oil barrier. You see this used often in lenses near the helicoids, to prevent oil from migrating into the lens elements.

Screw Lock 1401C |

• Hazardous goods, can only be shipped by ground or sea

Screw Lock 1401C is shorthand for Threebond 1401C, a light duty thread- locker. This is the red stuff you see all the time on top of screws in Nikkor lens. As this is a hazardous good, it's best to look for it locally, where it can cometimes be found through auto and motorcycle supply stores.
